Where to spend your time: The “Cue Chalk Board” (10,000 threads, 116,000 posts), and the “non-pool related” category if you want to discuss other things. (7,000 threads, 62,000 posts).
Forum Review
The longstanding pool and billiards publisher hosts one of the most popular forums in its space. Billiards Digest is home to the famed ‘Cue Chalk Board’ – the catch-all thread category that makes up the bulk of this forum’s content. It houses a tremendous number of posts from some of the most knowledgeable pool enthusiasts on the internet.
Content on the forum regularly relate to the countless articles developed by the Billiards Digest editors – but one can find lots of other content about popular topics such as learning the game or buying gear. However, it would be nice to have the categories broken out in a somewhat more granular format – Billiards Digest hosts only six broad categories in total.
The forum is based on UBB threads software – and its limitations are evident in a comparatively week search tool. With such a large base of content, it’s frustrating not being able to search by user and keyword at the same time.
The Skinny
Billiards Digest is a definite authority site within the pool and billiards world. You may struggle with the usability a bit, but it’s a favored site of some of the most experienced pool community members. Its reputation has been earned through a long history of satisfied users.

The CCB (Cue Chalk Board) is a mainstay for lots of passionate pool players. It has a unique user group - maybe a little more refined in their knowledge. - Gemstick
