Forum Review
I struggled with what to do with the Uk8Ball forum when creating this guide. On one hand, it has a lot of great content on the professional and amateur billiard scenes in the UK. One can see by browsing the threads that there is obviously a lot of action on this board. On the other hand, the site advertising can be excessive and the user navigation is the worst of any forum listed in this guide.

To add to my dilemma, I found myself banned from the site not once - but twice, when I asked for feedback from the Uk8Ball users on what they thought were the best billiards forums. Oddly enough, I posted the exact same threads on all of the forums you see in this guide- and the moderators and users on those other boards were more than happy to help me out with feedback. Evidently Uk8Ball found my request for help with my research to be ‘advertising’. The funny thing is that I found a number of posts on some of the other forums joking about Uk8Ball and their habit of banning users – so I guess I’m not alone.

So –I can’t really speak to the value of Uk8Ball from the perspective of a poster – you’ll have to ask someone who hasn’t been banned about that. However, I did include the forum here as a tribute to the huge volume of content on the site.

Note- if any of the moderators over at Uk8Ball would like to comment on my review, I’d be more than happy to help with passing on some further information about what the site has to offer.

The Skinny
8 ball has a large following in the UK, and Uk8Ball appears to the forum of note for this market. Just watch what you say when you go to post – the moderators won’t hesitate to ban you.

Although uk8ball is not as good as when it first started it’s still the best pool web site in the UK. It covers both codes in the UK, both Blackball (Federation rules) and World Rules (English Pool Association). The webmaster can unfortunately be a bit biased towards Blackball at times but the community spirit is fantastic. There has been special uk8ball events in the past where users can meet and play against each other which has been a great success.- PoolQueen
