A customized search tool for the pool and billiards community
Posted February 11th, 2007Categories: Billiards and Pool Search
If you have ever wanted to search within the Pool and Billiards community - now you can!
As I continue to research the best billiards and pool blogs (the official guide of the BEST Blogs will be posted soon), I decided to put together a customized Google search tool that will let everyone search within the most popular blogs and forums from the pool and billiards community.
Here it is - a search tool for the Billiards and pool community
Included in this search are all of the blogs and forums that I have reviewed while looking for the best billiards community sites. The billiards community search is live on my site right now - the search box is visible on the sidebar.
What is really cool is that website owners can add this search tool to their website - it is likely to provide a more focused search experience for members of our community.
Please note that I’m in the midst of trying to get the results displayed within my site as opposed to a google SERP page. There will definetly be some tweaking over the coming weeks, but it looks like some good initial progress has been made.
In case any of you are unfamiliar with this, or want to learn more about creating a customized search - check out Google’s co-op’s search tools.
Below is a list of the sites I populated the tool with. I debated leaving the search tool open to edits from volunteers - that would allow the community to add additional sites to the search in efforts to make it more complete. However, open editing would probably make it ripe for spam. So I thought the best way to manage this is to administrate it myself until I’m more familiar with the tool - and if someone wants to edit the search list, let me know and I can set up additional edit rights.
Alternatively, feel free to recommend any other sites that are good resources in the post comments and I’ll do my best to add them to the search.

I suggest you add some novelty pool sites. And I just so happen to have a few in that category.
Pool Literature
Celebrities Playing Pool
Pool in Fine Art
If you go back far enough, you’ll find that my pages were the first to focus on each of these topics.
